Students continued to explore relationships between environment and culture that
we have been focusing on during the past two weeks. This week, students
learned about Inuit printmaking, and then created their own animal
prints. Students also worked freely at different centers, creating rock
sculptures, soap sculptures, exploring the classroom cave, and
documenting their work with ipads. This week we ended class with a
drawing prompt:
“What do you see everyday?” Answers ranged from pollution, air, and
sunshine, to pets and family members, and we we happy to hear that some
wished they saw saturday art school everyday! These end of class drawing
prompts will occur each week to facilitate further thinking and will
eventually be complied into a book for each student.
