Week Seven

This week we continued our unit on the Amazon Rainforest. Students learned about how water moves and applied this to art, by looking at how paint moves. They created a collaborative piece, inspired by Holton Rower's "Tall Paintings". Each student poured a cup of house paint over an upside trashcan that had a wooden base, and observed the movement and layering of the paint.

In addition to the tall paintings, students also worked on creating habitats for the clay animals that they created last week. They were able to combine synthetic and natural materials to make a recycled habitat that reflected their knowledge of the rainforest environment.
