Week Five: Light, Sound, and Movement
This week students learned about sound waves and light waves, and used this knowledge to experiment with new materials in their artwork. Students continued to work on the recycled city and used found objects and recycled materials to make structures found in a city. Students also continued to work on the graffiti murals using chalk pastels, and Incorporated tracing and stencils in their work.
This week students also created their own photographs using lightwaves. First students used the Ipads to create their own art pieces using sound. The App is called "Singing Fingers" and students were able to sing or make noise and draw on the Ipads at the same time. After they completed the drawing, students could go back over the painting to replay their sounds or music.
After students created a work of art using "Singing Fingers" they were able to enter the photo booth station. In this station, we used a camera on a tripod, set a slow shutter speed (13 frames per second). The students used the Ipads in the photo booth to create unique works of art using the camera that captured the movement of their Ipads!
- Download Singing Fingers: It's an awesome App that allows kids to incorporate music, sound, and rhythm into their artwork.
